Krista from The Happy Housie gave these lovely legged stools a makeover with Cherry Blossom and a top coat of Sweet Dreams for a pretty, girly look!

Hello everyone! It is Krista from The Happy Housie back again today to share a beautiful stool that I recently fixed up using some Country Chic Cherry Blossom and Sweet Dreams. I have been loving all the coral and pink hues that I have seen in design lately, and was super excited to add some of these pretty tones to our décor. And there are few things as low commitment as a stool or chair…. the perfect place to experiment with some pretty pastel colours! I just love how they turned out.

I started out with these stools that I picked up at a local thrift shop. I saw them out on the side of the road when I was driving by and I had to circle back for them. I absolutely love the spindly shape of the legs – such great character for adding a distressed paint finish! Even though they said “do not sell” on the top I was able to buy them – apparently the owner of the thrift shop got them with that ‘tattoo’ already there.

I gave them a light sanding to prep them for painting…

And then gave them a good coat of Cherry Blossom…

Such a beautiful hue!

Once it was dry, I coated them with Sweet Dreams.

I let this dry very briefly (less then an hour), and then got to work distressing them using a damp cloth.

I wanted to distress them fairly heavily because I really wanted a fair bit of the Cherry Blossom to show through. Once the distressing was finished I let the stools dry overnight and then gave them a coat of natural wax.

I applied the wax thoroughly with my wax brush, then went back to the place I had started and buffed it off.

They turned out so beautifully, don’t you think?

I am so thrilled with them… they have found homes in a couple of spots in our house. One is in our Master Bedroom (we are revamping it with turquoise, coral, and mint tones)… and the other is on our new command central office closet -we are still working on finishing off that project!

Thanks for reading. And remember, my housie friends, HOME isn’t built in a day. Enjoy the journey.
