Come see the very first CCP blog post by Bre from Average But Inspired! She used Dark Roast and Tough Coat to turn an old changing table into this stylish console table.

Hello, Country Chic Paint fans! My name is Bre and I blog at Average But Inspired, where I share lots of creative inspiration for the home and family. I am thrilled to be here today to share my changing table upcycle project with you.

This piece started out as a dated changing table that I picked up on a local resale website.

I knew it could be so much more, however! After giving it a light sanding, I applied two coats of Country Chic’s paint in Dark Roast. The coverage was amazing and the color was stunning – so deep and rich.

I sealed the entire piece with two coats of Country Chic’s Tough Coat, because I knew this piece would get a lot of wear. (I have two little kids who will be digging in the baskets all the time.)

For more interest, I added hardware to the drawer and decoupaged fabric on the shelves.

I think the sophisticated color transforms the piece from a nursery staple to a chic console table. I couldn’t be happier with my new table!
