Today we’d like to introduce you to another of our fabulous retailers, Pascale Seidl from The Crafty Tulip! Read on to learn a bit about her shop and why she’s passionate about her work.
The Crafty Tulip
We interviewed Pascale Seidl, owner of The Crafty Tulip in Fairbanks, Alaska to learn a little bit more about her store, what it’s like to be a Country Chic Paint retailer, and why she loves to paint. Read on to learn more about her inspirational story!
Pascale Seidl: store owner and passionate painter
Pascale grew up in The Netherlands and moved to the US in 1988. In 2004 she moved to Alaska and officially started up her business in 2010. She began by simply refinishing furniture but has since expanded into repurposing. She has been an official Country Chic Paint retailer since 2014.
Her favorite thing about being a store owner is the creativity involved. When she starts a project, there are endless possibilities and she never knows how it might turn out. Seeing the unexpected transformation is always exciting!
Pascale stumbled upon CCP first when she saw a Facebook ad about our wholesale program. She knew she wanted to try out a paint before she decided to stock it in her store and was excited that she was able to try a sample order of our products. She fell in love with our line, ordered two additional pints, then promptly threw out the other brand of paint she’d been using before.
Her favorite Country Chic Paint product is the paint. She uses it more than any other product.
She will be hosting her first painting workshop very soon! It will be an intro to furniture painting class where she’ll teach you how to layer colors, distress furniture, and how to seal your piece with wax and tough coat.
Pascale does most of her store’s advertising through Facebook. They also have flyers distributed in the antique mall in which her shop is located. The mall itself attracts many different types of people as there are many different types of vendors. Pascale says her booth attracts those who are new to painting as well as the experienced. She gets lots of new customers on a regular basis, especially those who have used other chalk-based paint brands and want to try Country Chic Paint!

Working with CCP
Pascale says, “Country Chic Paint has the most awesome support. It’s unbelievable how much they support their retailers. The possibilities are endless with paint; you can do anything”.
Her favorite part about having paint in her store is when customers return to show her pictures of the pieces they’ve created. One of her fans follows her on Facebook and shows her pictures on a regular basis. Because of the paint she carries in her shop, they have built a friendship.
Advice for prospective retailers
“Buy the product, learn the product, and use the product. Then you can really talk about it.”
Pascale plans to bring in at least one of her other dealers to participate during her workshops so they are educated about the products as well.
