Robin from Redo It Yourself Inspirations used Liquorice and natural wax to restore the beauty in this vintage drop-leaf table! Come see the whole transformation in this blog post.
I found this table at a thrift shop. It’s a vintage rustic knotty pine Ethan Allen side table, with drop-leaf sides, a slender front drawer with white porcelain pull and scrolled end legs. Quite outdated.
The top was in really rough shape.
Deciding on two tone, I used Liquorice paint and clear wax for the base and drawer.
Then sanded down the top to refinish it.
I gave it a warm tone with a red tint stain.
I added a new drawer pull to change out the dated white porcelain.
I used gift wrap paper to decoupage the inside of the drawer.
Then used polyurethane to coat the table top.
Still keeping the character of the table, the new two tone gave it an updated look.
