Cait from Little City Farmhouse layered Cobblestone and Bliss All-in-One Decor Paint for this pretty, rustic style bench. Find out how she used our Beeswax Distressing Bar to give it a heavily distressed finish!

Hello friends! I’m Cait from Little City Farmhouse and I am excited to share this project with you!

Country Chic Paint just released a brand new product – the Beeswax Bar. The resist technique is a breeze and the results and gorgeous! If you love a really worn and distressed look, this product is definitely one you need in your paint cabinet!

This bench came to me completely unfinished – raw pine. We were after an aged and worn finish – one that looked like it had been worn down over the years and layered in paint.

For the basecoat, I painted the bench in one coat of Cobblestone in the All-in-One paint. When it was thoroughly dry, I rubbed the beeswax bar all over it. I hit all the edges, and on the flat surfaces I used the bar like a wide eraser and went over the entire bench. I had no real intention when using the bar other than I wanted a lot of the topcoat to come off, showing the basecoat, and so I used the bar quite liberally.

I then painted the bench in Bliss, also in the All-in-One paint. When that was dry, I used a really fine piece of sandpaper and sanded the whole bench. Wherever the Beeswax Bar was applied, the paint came right off! It makes the arduous job of sanding a breeze!

The All-in-One paint doesn’t require a topcoat, but we wanted a very aged finish on this bench and so I waxed the entire piece with a combination of Clear and Antique Wax.

What once looked somewhat boring and brand new has a rich worn look, with an incredibly durable finish!

Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
