Come read tips and tricks from Carrie from Thirty Eighth Street on how to add some cute and functional wall art to your home! She used Fireside, Dark Roast, and Cobblestone for this project.

Hi Country Chic Paint Friends! It’s January, the month that I start purging and thinking of new ways to help our home become just a little bit more organized. But, organizing doesn’t have to a dreaded chore… it can be creative and fun!

If you have children you might be able to relate to the dreaded paper pile up. You know that spot on your counter that accumulates lots of impressive artwork, high scoring school work, certificates, ribbons and more! We love to display these little treasures around the home but a fridge can only hold so much before it starts to look weighted down. We’ve come up with a few solutions to help us with our paper problem and wanted to share one of them with you today!

We purchased inexpensive bulletin boards to hang in our son’s room.

Before hanging them, we decided to dress them up a bit! I’m a sucker for stripes. Adding a little bit of design even to the simplest of bulletin boards can give a custom feel to a space. We taped off the boards in a stripe pattern using painters tape, then painted them in Country Chic’s Cobblestone All In One Paint.

The frames came with a light oak finish. We updated the frames using Country Chic’s Dark Roast. It’s the perfect brown when you want the look of a dark stain but the easy application of a paint! We pulled off the look by painting some paper mache letters in Country Chic’s Fireside for a nice pop of color. Once mounted my boys now have a place to rotate all of their works of art for all to see!

Carrie {Thirty Eighth Street}

Hi! I’m Carrie from sunny Southern Arizona and blogger at Thirty Eighth Street. I live in a house full of rumble tumble boys and paint is my nail polish. I love the process of repurposing, reusing and recycling unloved furniture and turning them into show stopper pieces. I’m a firm believer that it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to decorate a home. My mission is to demonstrate this, one piece at a time!
