Marnia from Marnia’s Measures & Treasures is joining us for her very first Country Chic Paint blog post today! Come see how she refurbished this adorable high chair with Creme Brulee, Vintage Cupcake, Simplicity, and some Image Transfer Medium.

This is my first blog ever for Country Chic Paint! I found the highchair out thrifting and the bed is one I made (a replica of one that my Dad had made for us four girls when we were small). I just love the look of something repainted over time, drips and all! These two pieces were perfect for that. First I painted each piece in Creme brulee and let dry. I then used the Country Chic Paint beeswax bar in random areas. Then applying a second coat in Vintage Cupcake (let dry), using the CCP wax bar once again. Finally adding the last coat of paint in Simplicity and once dry I gave the pieces a light sanding to allow the layers of paint to peek through. After that I took some specialty papers and vintage transfers that I had laser printed and applied them with Country Chic Paint’s image transfer medium. Once dry I wet and rubbed off/sanded the excess paper until I got the worn vintage look I was going for.

Marnia {Marnia’s Measures & Treasures}

I am a Momma of 4, ranging from 8 months old to 22 years and a grandma to a beautiful granddaughter who is also 8 months. I am #2 in the line up of 4 girls who are my best friends! Raised by a Mom and Dad who encouraged creativity and let us paint our own rooms and furniture as we pleased. I believe having a hobby is a necessity for happiness…well, that and having a hubby that encourages my addiction to thrift! I love to teach and see ones glow after learning/accomplishing something new.
