This beautiful neutral hutch was created by Cait from Little City Farmhouse with Sunday Tea, Sage Advice, and just a hint of sparkle with help from Pocket Watch metallic cream!

Hello readers!

Often times in the shop my customers bring in pieces to be refinished that I instantly know are going to be special. This cabinet is one of those pieces! It was tired looking with some surface water damage and needed to be brought back to life. The owner of the cabinet wanted earthy tones with a touch of gold, so that is what we did!

I gave the cabinet two coats of Sunday Tea, one of Country Chic’s Limited Edition colours from this past spring. I painted the interior of the cabinet in two coats of Sage Advice in the All-in-One paint. I gave both the interior and exterior a good sanding and distressing.

For the gold section of the cabinet, I applied 4 coats of Metallic Cream in Pocket Watch. The Metallic Cream dries quickly and is so easily built up to an opaque finish. The result is always stunning!

I waxed the exterior of the cabinet with a light coat of clear wax. I love the way the cabinet turned out. The combination of neutral shades combined with the touch of gold is definitely a nod to the era and suits the cabinet perfectly!

Cait {Little City Farmhouse}

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
