This little side table was refurbished by Kendra from Joy in Our Home for her daughter’s room with the help of Cobblestone, our beeswax distressing bar, Simplicity, and Tough Coat!

Hi everyone!

So glad to be back to share another makeover I did with Country Chic paint! We are currently giving our daughter’s bedroom a makeover and I wanted to match this bed side table with a dresser we already bought for her room.

Bedside Table Makeover

This bedside table has been sitting in our garage all winter long. Every time I’d walk by it, it seemed to beg me for a makeover. When I got my Country Chic chalk-based paint, I waited no more. It was just what this piece needed!

Here’s what it looked like before. I think the best part about any makeover is looking at the “before” pictures and seeing the magic paint can work!

I gave this end table a good sanding on all flat surfaces. After wiping it down, I used wood filler to fill the holes where I removed the wooden drawer handles. I also filled other holes and dents on the top. I then applied one coat of Cobblestone as I was planning on giving this end table a distressed look and wanted the darker color to show through.

I applied the Beeswax Distressing Bar along the edges, drawers and any area where natural wear and tear would occur. I love that this bar is all natural and it’ll last for many projects! Next, I  applied two coats of Simplicity. Using a wet rag and sandpaper I rubbed on areas where I wanted the darker color to show through. This is such a simple technique to distress furniture. Finally, I applied two coats of Tough Coat to protect the surface from everyday use.

I love how this bedside table turned out and it’ll be the perfect addition to our daughter’s bedroom makeover! Thanks for stopping by, friends!
