Do you want to find out how Olivia from Rustic Owl Treasures turned this 70s end table into a beautiful, rustic piece? Come read her blog post all about it!

I found this end table at a yard sale little over a month ago. I liked the top of it and the decorative drawer but it still looked like it was from the 70s so it was time for a update. It started like this:

After I cleaned it up I decided to paint it in Lazy Linen it took about 2 coats and I painted in the drawer in Fresh Mustard.

After all that I distressed the piece along the lines and natural places that would distress over time. now my plan was to leave it a light grey and have the drawer done in dark wax. but it was just to much of a contrast.

So I used the natural wax and then antiquing wax over the Lazy Linen, then on the drawer I watered down Lazy Linen and did a white wash over the top then used white wax on top of that, leaving it in the grooves of the drawer.

Now the contrast is good and I love how it turned out!
