These dining room chairs were toned down from multi-colored to shabby-chic by Cait from Little City Farmhouse with Elegance, natural wax, and antiquing wax!

Hello readers!

It’s always exciting when I get to do a project for my own house! It doesn’t happen too often! I bought these chairs on a local selling group – I loved the shape, but their mismatched white and brown paint had to go!

I tossed around different colours, but ultimately decided on blue – so I painted them in two coats of Elegance.

Because of the previous multiple colour paint job, I knew I didn’t want to distress the chairs at all. However, after they were painted they looked a little flat and needed some extra character. I decided not to sand the chairs smooth at all, but rather leave the very slight brush marks and imperfections to help me build character and age.

I waxed the chairs with a mix of antique and clear wax, really pushing the wax into any grooves and crevices. It was just what the chairs needed!

The chairs went from a mix of paint colours in desperate need of some TLC, to bright and cheery chairs with just enough character!

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
