All-in-One Message Center

Olivia from Rustic Owl Treasures is back today with a fantastic up-cycling idea for you! Don’t throw out your old doors yet…turn them into a cute, functional message center like this one in Ocean Breeze!

Today I am going to share how to up-cycle a old door. This door started out attached to a huge top part of a china cabinet, it was missing glass and shelves and was given to me for free! So I decided to take the whole thing apart and salvage parts of it I could use. So it started out this way…

It was a good stain color but the bottom part was not even stained at all so whats a girl to do, well of course paint it! So I tried out the new All-in-One Decor Paint for this project in color Ocean Breeze.

It only took two thin coats and dried super quickly, which it was a hot day. After that all lightly distressed it around all the edges to give it a more shabby feel.

Then used my nail gun to add the chicken wire to the back and added hooks to the bottom. I did not use any finishing stuff on this as the All-in-One Decor Paint does not need wax or anything unless you wanted extra durability.

This piece would be great in a entry way to hang hats or keys on the hooks and little reminders that you see before walking out the door and its a great way to re-use wood that would have been thrown away!
