Carrie from Thirty Eighth Street created the beautiful two-toned look of this piece with Vanilla Frosting and Harmony!

I’ve been dying to create a two toned furniture piece for awhile now so I was really excited to find this lovely gem of a highboy dresser at a local estate sale. Have you used Country Chic Paint in Harmony before? This was my first time using it and I’m in love! Harmony is a light, neutral pink that looks terrific on furniture but also on picture frames!

Say good-bye to this dark cherry highboy because we turned it into a really pretty pink and white two-toned dresser fit for a princess.

How did we create this look? We started this makeover by mixing some Cobblestone paint with some paint additive and dabbed it onto all of the drawer fronts. This gave the drawers a really nice textured feel. Once that was dry, we added a layer of Vanilla Frosting over the Cobblestone, then lightly sanded down the Vanilla Frosting to reveal the Cobblestone texture underneath. Next, we painted the dresser frame and the bottom drawer with Harmony before dry brushing some Vanilla Frosting right over the top.

Here are few more details of this piece…

Below, you can really get a sense of the texture and layering that dry brushing can give you.

Do you see those painted picture frames above the dresser? Those were all painted in a variety of Country Chic paints and dry brushed with Trigger metallic cream. The one in the center was finished in Harmony. Can’t get enough of this delicate pink hue!

Hi! I’m Carrie from sunny Southern Arizona and blogger at Thirty Eighth Street. I live in a house full of rumble tumble boys and paint is my nail polish. I love the process of repurposing, reusing and recycling unloved furniture and turning them into show stopper pieces. I’m a firm believer that it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to decorate a home. My mission is to demonstrate this, one piece at a time!
