Stacy from Salvage Sisters & Co used layers of Devotion, Elegance, and Pebble Beach, all topped with Lazy Linen to give this beautiful sofa table a new, shabby chic look!

When I found this table at an estate sale, I immediately knew I needed it and for only $40 who could resist? I’ve been looking for a sofa table for a long time to hide the back of my couch. I like the clean lines of the table & the ever so slight curve & detail of the legs. I’m pretty sure this beauty is a product of the 80’s but I knew once I got a hold of it, I could make it the envy of today.

I started out by going through my stash of nearly empty containers of Country Chic paint and came up with just enough “Elegance”, “Devotion”, & “Pebble Beach” to get the job done. So, I randomly layered those on and let them completely dry.

Once the initial layers were dry, I painted two thin coats of Country Chic Lazy Linen over the entire table. After the Lazy Linen had a chance to dry, that’s when the magic began! I grabbed a warm damp cloth and began rubbing off the top layers of paint to expose the bottom layers. I also lightly sanded with 220 grit to expose some of the original wood tone and then finished up with a protective coat of Natural Wax.

Stacy & Julie {Salvage Sisters & Co}

We are two sisters living in Nebraska and Colorado pursuing our dream of having a business together – painting, repurposing and salvaging furniture and decor. In 2014 after a few years in the south, Stacy moved back to Nebraska. With our distance apart being less excruciating we decided to jump on the opportunity to follow our passion for crafting and start doing festivals and shows. Thanks to all of our friends in the community our tent was bare by the end of each weekend! We quickly learned our dreams were becoming a reality and we needed a way to be more in touch on a daily basis and so, our online store was born.

As we continue to grow we strive for our business to embody all of the things that we hold nearest to our heart- family, community and home. The Salvage Sisters are all about spending time together with the people we love and there’s no better place to do that than home. We are inspired by comfortable, lived-in homes that are filled with a perfect balance of both old and new. We hope that our passion shines from the warmth of our hearts into your home.
