If you like delicate neutrals, you’re going to love this piece by Cait from Little City Farmhouse! She used Vanilla Frosting and Lazy Linen to freshen up this beautiful cabinet.

Hello readers!

Even though we are in the summer groove here, I can’t stay away from paint too long! Sometimes pieces come into the shop and linger for a while until inspiration strikes, and other pieces I immediately know what I want to do with them – like this cabinet!

This cabinet is solid white oak, but the finish was doing nothing for it and it was time for an update! I knew I wanted a real airy look for it, something really French Country. Lazy Linen was the perfect grey for it. I painted the exterior in two coats of Lazy Linen in the All-in-One formula.

To create some interest and dimension, I painted the inside of the cabinet in Vanilla Frosting, also in the All-in-One formula. I lightly sanded and distressed the whole piece.

I wanted a matte finish, which is why I chose the All-in-One formula. The top coat is built into the paint, so no extra topcoat is required! This leaves the finish matte, yet durable, and the sanded finish is so smooth.

The cabinet turned out just as I had envisioned! It never ceases to amaze me how paint can completely change the look of a piece of furniture!

Cait {Little City Farmhouse}

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
