Pretty in Liquorice

Come find out how Andrea from Crossroad Creations transformed this gorgeous spindly table with just a bit of Liquorice and natural wax!

I had not thought about painting furniture black until I got my hands on the Furniture & Home Décor Paint in Liquorice! I am slowly becoming obsessed with it, and this is my most recent project that I have painted in this color.

I had purchased this piece at an auction a while and waited to work on it because I was unsure what color to choose. I decided just to start prepping the piece, sanding and repairing a section on the base. Once the table was ready to paint, I went with my initial instinct and chose Liquorice and am so glad that I did! Here is a photo after the table was painted with two coats and ready to distress.

I chose to lightly distress the piece using sandpaper in order to expose the wood underneath and showcase the intricate details of the top and legs. I love the pairing of natural wood and black.

Once I was happy with the distressing, I sealed the piece with the Natural Wax. I love the large wax brush by Country Chic Paint, it makes the waxing process so much quicker! I buffed the table with a lint free cloth after letting the wax sit for a few minutes to give it this lovely glow. I hope you like the end result as much as I do!
