Today Andrea from Crossroad Creations is going to teach you how easy it is to upcycle your old picture frames into beautiful, trendy decor!

I’d love to share with you a quick project that you can do with a sample size jar of paint, or with what’s left in the can from another project! I have found a few frames that were missing the glass and have finally decided to give them a purpose. I have been reading about vision boards lately and will show you an easy way to create your own that is super cute!

The first thing I did was scuff up the frame with a piece of 150 grit sandpaper. I painted two coats on this frame with Bliss and after giving it time to dry overnight, used the white wax as a top coat. I applied the wax with a brush in order to get it into all the details of the frame. I then took a lint-free cloth and wiped the wax from the raised areas, while leaving the wax settled in the grooves.

The next thing I did was use a stapler to attach lengths of crochet ribbon across the frame, and then a coordinating piece of fabric to cover the whole back of the frame. An optional step is to glue a piece of ribbon to cover the staples, even though they are on the back. I found these cute little chalkboard clothespins to hang on the ribbon, but it would also be really easy to make your own!

Now it’s time to hang photos on the clothespins that inspire or motivate you!
