I decided to paint the chair in Country Chic Paint in Vanilla Frosting, it only took two coats to get full coverage!

I let it dry enough til was tacky and used a wet rag to distress it in areas that I wanted, I went for heavily distressed so it had a more farmhouse look as for seat I decided to use this vintage flour sack that once help turkey feed in it for the fabric. Which I also found at the 10 mile long yard sale!

  1. Can you tell me how after you painted it white/cream the dark areas came through? I have a TV stand, dark wood and would love to it. I would use maybe a grey tho but want the dark to show through in certain areas like yours, the beat up look if you will. Thank you

    1. Hi Mary Ann,

Thanks for stopping by! For this project, Olivia used the wet distressing technique, but you can also use sandpaper to distress through paint to reveal the natural wood color beneath. Click here to visit our distressing tutorial for full details on how to achieve this look!
