Cait from Little City Farmhouse used Liquorice to transform this chair into a classic beauty! Come find out how she did it.

Hello readers!

I wanted to pop in and share with you a simple project that is perfect for using leftover paint or even sample jars for! I recently refinished a desk in Liquorice, and the customer who bought it from me had this old chair that she wanted painted to match to use as a desk chair.

The chair was in great condition structurally, but was lacking in charm. Years of wear left most of the chair with no finish left, and other parts of the chair with worn out, bubbled up varnish (which when painted can leave the most beautiful texture).

I painted the chair in one coat of Liquorice and when it was dry I distressed it really well. I waited about 72 hours before I applied Tough Coat to the chair. It’s been rainy and humid here and I wanted the paint to fully dry before the topcoat was applied so that I didn’t have any streaking issues.

Even with a fresh coat of paint, the chair still has the look of years of wear and love!

Cait {Little City Farmhouse}

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
