A Fancy Piano Stool

Cait from Little City Farmhouse used our limited edition color, Moon Dew and Pocket Watch metallic cream to give this piano stool a fun, sparkly new look!

Hello readers!

I’m popping in today to share with you a quick project with big impact! This piano and piano stool have been in our family forever. When our parents downsized, the piano had to go – and it found a new home in my sister’s dining room. The stool my dad sat on to play for so many years also had sentimental value, but wasn’t very interesting – a problem easily solved with paint!

One of the very first cans of paint I ever got from Country Chic was this limited edition colour, Moon Dew. It’s been several years, but the paint was still good and the perfect colour! I painted the legs of the still with two coats of Moon Dew.

The middle piece of the stool I painted with several thin coats of Pocket Watch Metallic Cream until it had a good solid coverage. I left the top with its previous finish to give the stool a really unique look. To finish it off I applied a thin coat of natural wax over the Moon Dew – the metallic creams dry to a really hard finish on their own so I usually don’t add any topcoat to them.

Cait {Little City Farmhouse}

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
