Julie from Salvage Sisters & Co. is back to share this fresh dresser makeover in Vanilla Frosting just in time for the new year!

Happy New Year! I always love to clean-out and oraganize the house and start the New Year with a clutter-free mind… I also like to simplify my home decor after all the Christmas decorations are put away. I often choose softer colors, they just seem so airy and bright. Now that we are calming down from all of the holiday chaos I thought I would share with you this elegant dresser painted with Country Chic Paint in Vanilla Frosting. I really do love the calm that radiates from light pieces.

This is such a graceful dresser with it’s refined wood and feather details on the legs. It was a gem to begin with.

As you can see the dresser was in great shape so it gave me some options with how I would finish it. I really love the contrast of the rich cream with the dark stained wood so I decided to leave the top natural.

I started with the first velvety coat of Vanilla Frosting. Every detail started to pop and the dresser started to take on a new life. One of the many things I love about Country Chic Paint is the instant transformations you can make!

By the time I had done two coats and lightly sanded the edges I realized this piece would be extraordinary. It turned out very luxurious with the rich cream and contrast of the wood top.

Stacy & Julie {Salvage Sisters & Co}

We are two sisters living in Nebraska and Colorado pursuing our dream of having a business together – painting, repurposing and salvaging furniture and decor. In 2014 after a few years in the south, Stacy moved back to Nebraska. With our distance apart being less excruciating we decided to jump on the opportunity to follow our passion for crafting and start doing festivals and shows. Thanks to all of our friends in the community our tent was bare by the end of each weekend! We quickly learned our dreams were becoming a reality and we needed a way to be more in touch on a daily basis and so, our online store was born.

As we continue to grow we strive for our business to embody all of the things that we hold nearest to our heart- family, community and home. The Salvage Sisters are all about spending time together with the people we love and there’s no better place to do that than home. We are inspired by comfortable, lived-in homes that are filled with a perfect balance of both old and new. We hope that our passion shines from the warmth of our hearts into your home.
