How many times have you passed up an old mirror at the thrift store because it didn’t match your decor? Carrie from Thirty Eighth Street is here to show you just how easy it is to modernize with paint to match your home!

Painting mirrors is a quick and easy way to update a space. Removing a builder grade mirror and replacing it with a pair of vintage mirrors is an easy way to create a custom look in a bathroom. Hanging twin mirrors above a pair of nightstands can also make a master bedroom look bigger and create a brighter space.

Back in the day, it was quite common for a long dresser to have these types of long mirrors attached to them. They are easy to customize and are the perfect size for just those purposes mentioned above. In less then 2 hours (including drying time) these dingy brown mirrors were given a whole new look that would help them forget the 1970’s!

We achieved this look by applying 2 light coats of Country Chic Paint in Liquorice then ran a damp cloth along the edges to create distressed lines. One coat of Tough Coat was applied to protect the finish and give a little sheen.

Carrie {Thirty Eighth Street}

Hi! I’m Carrie from sunny Southern Arizona and blogger at Thirty Eighth Street. I live in a house full of rumble tumble boys and paint is my nail polish. I love the process of repurposing, reusing and recycling unloved furniture and turning them into show stopper pieces. I’m a firm believer that it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to decorate a home. My mission is to demonstrate this, one piece at a time!
