Country Chic Paint’s limited edition color, Wanderess is a lovely green with morphing color changes depending on original base colors and top coats. I used it on a sweet photo box and it was a sage green, pretty!

However, on this cherry stained coffee table it took on a more blue hue. Wait until you see what Antiquing Wax changed it to.

I was pretty stoked to try my new large oval brush.

The brush worked well. Here is one coat applied. Being such a dark base I went with 3 coats.

Then it was Antiquing Wax time. Don’t be alarmed if you find a thin skin on your wax. It is a sealing barrier the natural ingredients make when left for a bit. Just peel off and go!

I love the deep pigment this Antiquing Wax has. It gave this piece such added dimension and character.

Here is half with Antiquing Wax and half just Wanderess alone.

After a full Natural Wax coat and buff, here she is. LOVE the rustic look it has.

Hello, my name is Lee Ann and I am the creator at Creative Moments. I have always had a love for vintage pieces and an interest in recycling/repurposing. Creative Moments became the outlet for both. Reloving a piece of furniture no longer in style, in disrepair or tossed aside into a “new, one of a kind” piece makes my heart sing. I love seeing these pieces becoming a part of a home, adding character and charm and providing years of enjoyment.

  1. Hi
Did you apply the antiquing wax over all surfaces or just to edges to give it dimension? I’m new to this and need lots of help! LOL! I really like this look! What kind of brush did you use for the wax?
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Melanie,

For this particular piece it looks like Lee Ann applied Antiquing Wax over the entire piece, but made it slightly darker around corners and edges to help it look naturally worn. You can apply as much or little as you like really! Whatever you think suits your piece best.

For applying wax you can use a wax brush likes the ones we carry, or a lint-free rag if you prefer.
