Cait from Little City Farmhouse gave this classic dresser a coat of Cheesecake to compliment it’s simple, eye-catching lines!

Hello painters!

The power of paint always amazes me. I picked up this dresser off a local buy & sell site in really great condition. The finish, however, was worn on the top and the dark finish of the dresser was doing nothing for it. I love the classic look of a cream dresser with black hardware and so I ultimately chose Cheesecake to paint it in.

After a good clean and light sanding, I painted the dresser in three coats of Cheesecake in the All-In-One formula. Lighter colours often require an extra coat, and I prefer to do multiple light coats rather than fewer thicker coats.

When it was thoroughly dry, I sanded to a smooth finish and distressed the edges to highlight the shape.

The All-in-One formula has a built in top coat, but dressers can be a highly used piece and so I gave it a quick coat of Natural Wax for added protection. Now it’s a light and bright piece!

Cait {Little City Farmhouse}

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
