Check out our limited edition color, Happy Hour in action! Cait from Little City Farmhouse used it to create a rustic, textured look on this mirror frame.

Hello!

Country Chic has released some beautiful new Limited Edition colours once again! One of them is this beautiful aqua-mint-teal called Happy Hour. The colour reminds me of seaglass – it’s so pretty! I wanted to do something special with this colour and get a really chippy textured look.

I painted the mirror in a base coat of Happy Hour. When it was dry, I worked in sections applying the second coat. After painting a section, I took my heat gun in random places and heated the paint. The paint dries quick and then bubbles, leaving a really amazing random texture pattern when it dries.

The size of the bubbles is dependant on how long you heat the paint for. Some areas will bubble and some won’t. When I was finished I let the paint dry thoroughly and then gave it a good sanding and distressing. The bubbles created in the paint will break and chip, leaving you with an old chippy look!

I waxed it with Natural Wax to give the colour a little extra depth. What once was a fairly new dresser mirror, is now a chippy old looking piece that would look great propped up on a mantle!

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
