Have you heard about our new Clear Coat? Cait from Little City Farmhouse tested it out on her farmhouse-style sign and we just love the results!

It’s always an exciting time when Country Chic launches a new product! They never disappoint with the quality of product they add to their line. There are so many different options out there when it comes to liquid hard coats to use for your projects – which one do you choose? Country Chic has made it easy by launching a brand new Clear Coat!

Clear Coat is a great top coat for projects that you’d rather use a liquid finish on (rather than wax) but doesn’t need an extremely tough finish (like Tough Coat). The finish is still nice and strong, and is VOC free!

I tested out the Clear Coat and was thrilled with the result! I painted this sign using Vanilla Frosting and an Image Transfer. When it was dry and distressed, I waited the full 24 hour suggested cure time before I applied the Clear Coat. Letting your paint cure will ensure an even and hard finish in your top coat.

Because this sign is decor I only applied 2 coats of the Clear Coat using a foam brush. If your piece is more highly used, 3-4 coats is optimal (but not to worry, it dries nice and quick!). It dries to a satin finish.

Cait {Little City Farmhouse}

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
