Faye from Farm Life Best Life used Cheesecake and both Natural and Antiquing Wax to transform these two old pressback chairs into lovely, farmhouse-ready masterpieces!
I went half crazy over the love of these 2 charming pressback chairs when I came across them!
However, not only could I not sit on them… I could barely touch them they were so terribly fragile ā however as old and frail as they were, all I could think of was how you’ll look sweet, upon the seat of these 2 pressback’s chic’d for YOU!
These 2 very frail, but oh so charming chairs needed to be tightened up and filled, as their legs and spindles were falling off, and their seats had wide cracks in them.
Once I finished mending them up, not only could I sit on them ā I could dance on them! After a lil’ dancing, I began my transformation with some oh-so-exquisite products by Country Chic Paint:
- Applied 2 coats of ‘All-In-One Decor Paint’ in my FAVOURITE colour ‘Cheesecake’
- Distressed with sanding block
- Applied 1 coat of ‘Antiquing Wax’
- Applied 1 coat of ‘Natural Wax’
Who needs a carriage, when you can have the stylish marriage of these 2 chairs together?
I hope you visit again! My #farmlifebestlife awaits more simple living, generous loving and constant learning ā graced with an abundance of country chic character and sweet imperfections, both for me and for YOU! <3

Love these. Looks like they’d pull right up to a table in a farmhouse kitchen!
I’m so glad you like them Jessica! Thanks for stopping by.
You’re are welcome. Love seeing your blog posts. So many neat ideas.
If you’re ever in friendly Manitoba Jessica, I would just LOVE for you to stop by… and pull right up to my farmhouse table for what I’m sure would be a lovely visit! <3
Ohhhhh my goodness. Road trip!!!! You are the sweetest thing. Thank you so much for the kind comments. Bet we could have a grand old time, visiting and laughing for hours. Maybe someday! I am down in the Midwest USA. Wouldn’t that be fun?
Chairs are darling. I have one to paint soon. Can I ask what you used to fill the cracks? I hear that a lot of people use Bondo All Purpose Putty. I’m just wondering what you like to use? Thanks.
Hi Meg! I used Elmer’s ProBond Max Wood Filler to fill these cracks. This is the only ‘wood filler’ product I have used to-date… and can’t see myself changing, as it has been working EXCELLENT for me! š
Thanks a bunch!
