Who doesn’t love a good creamy white? For this project, Dominique from The Little White Cottage chose Vanilla Frosting to compliment the style of this rustic cabinet!

First, let me say that I was so excited to get to be part of the guest bloggers for Country Chic Paint for this year! As part of this endeavour, they sent me some products and my job, the best job in my opinion, is to use the products and review them on some guest blog posts. This blog post is done in collaboration with Country Chic Paint, but as usual, all opinions are my own.

For this particular project, I decided to use Country Chic Paint’s All-in-One Decor paint in Vanilla Frosting to give my living room cabinet and shelf a little refresh. Since the shelf sits directly above the cabinet, I wanted them to be the same shade of cream.

Like their furniture paint, the all-in-one paint was of great quality. It applied effortlessly and provided excellent coverage. The shelf was previously black and had a heavy varnish on it. I didn’t even use a primer and the Country Chic Paint covered the whole thing very well in three light coats. I decided to do three light coats as opposed to two thick coats in order to ensure that the black was completely covered. Of course, had I not been a little lazy I would’ve used a primer, but why give yourself the work when you don’t have to?!

The cabinet was previously a white-ish grey and so (believe it or not) it only needed one coat of the Country Chic paint. When something only needs one coat, I get giddy because I can distress it and style it quicker. Patience is not my virtue.

Once the paint had cured (about a day or so) I went over the edges with a fine grit sandpaper just to distress them lightly and then everything was styled and put away.

I’m very satisfied with how it turned out, and I feel that this is the perfect cream colour. I definitely encourage you to give this paint a try for your own projects.
