This cute little gold footed dresser was refurbished by Cait from Little City Farmhouse with Vanilla Frosting, Pocket Watch metallic cream, and Natural Wax!

There’s something about these little dressers that look so classic in cream. They can handle big pops of colour, but there’s just something about them in neutrals that is so authentic. This was a custom piece and my client wanted pops of gold, and this piece definitely had the right features for that.

I started by giving the dresser a really good cleaning and a light sand. With antique dressers like these, I like to keep the charm of the dings and dents, so a light sanding was all that was required. I then gave it three light coats of Vanilla Frosting – my absolute favourite colour in the Country Chic Paint lineup.

In between painting coats, I also painted the spindles of the front legs in Pocket Watch Metallic Cream. This product is a dream to use. It has a thicker consistency and you can use it as a light accent or layer it up for full coverage. I did about 4 coats on these legs.

When everything was dry, I sanded smooth and distressed everything but the gold legs, and then gave it a good coat of natural wax.

Classic, charming, and a little pop of gold! It doesn’t get a whole lot better than that!

Cait {Little City Farmhouse}

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
