Abbey from Painted Home Goods used Lazy Linen to help her transform a well loved hand-me-down into a lovely farmhouse table for her shabby chic home!

This was my childhood family dinner table and I was happy to have it passed down to me for my first apartment but it desperately needed a refresh. The original finish wasn’t in the best shape after years of use (and 5 little kids) and it didn’t match my style at all.

I layered paint and weathered gray stain on the top for a unique finish without needing to strip and sand (I’d recommend taking the time to do so for a more long-lasting finish though this has held up to my twin toddlers really well so far).

The base I painted Lazy Linen and distressed. This is easily my favorite white/gray! A lot of other whites are either extremely bright or have strong yellow undertones but Lazy Linen is such a soft matte shade that it works perfectly in any room. This may not be our family’s “forever” table but it sure is pretty!

Abbey {Painted Home Goods}

As a mom to twin boys, I am always busy. Twice the fun, twice the work! My Twin Tornadoes and salvaging neglected furniture are my passions. If a twin mom in a small apartment can fix up and paint furniture, so can you! In today’s throw-away culture and tendency towards cheaply made, mass produced home goods, I seek to provide something different, something unique. Bringing new life to discarded finds is my way of contributing to the responsible thrifting counterculture that has become a growing trend. When shopping with PaintedHomeGoods you can feel good about what you buy. Enjoy!
