From Drab and Dark to Bright and Fresh {guest post}

Cait from Little City Farmhouse used a bit of Clear Bonding Primer and Crinoline to update this coffee table from drab to fab in just a few minutes!

Do you have a coffee table in your home? Most everyone does! Do you love it or are you not feeling too thrilled about it? If you aren’t loving it, let’s change that!

I refinished this coffee table for a client and friend. It was a red toned veneer and wasn’t especially pretty. She wanted to update it and give it a bit more of a modern brighter look but still highlight the character.

I started out by cleaning and giving it a light scuff. I then applied a good coat of Clear Bonding Primer to ensure perfect adhesion. I rave about this primer a lot, but it really is one of my absolute favourites!

I like to give the Primer a while to dry and cure. The jar recommends 12 hours, so I usually prime my piece as the last thing I do in my shop during the day and let it dry overnight. When it was good and cured I painted the table in Crinoline in the All-in-One formula. Crinoline is a beautiful white. It’s a crisp clean slightly off-white colour.

I distressed it just around the edges and then gave it a couple coats of poly to add great protection and sheen. From drab and dark to bright and fresh, with just a little paint!

Cait {Little City Farmhouse}

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
