Cait from Little City Farmhouse transformed a simple thrift store find into a beautiful coastal driftwood table! Read on to find out how.

After sanding down the original shiny finish on the table top, here’s what Cait had to work with:

To give it more of a coastal look, she started by painting the table top with one thin coat of the color, Driftwood. However, she wanted to keep some of that wood grain peeking through, so she mixed 1 part water with 1 part Driftwood. This helped the paint color absorb into the wood and create more of a stained finish.

Next she created her own custom tinted glaze by mixing 4 parts Clear Glaze with 1 part paint in the color Sunday Tea.

She used an oval paint brush to apply the glaze, then wiped away the excess with a damp rag.

Finally, to add a little bit more texture, she added a touch of Crinoline to her glaze mixture to lighten it up even more, then dry brushed it on to her table top.

She painted the table legs with Dune Grass, then sealed the entire table with Antiquing Wax.

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
