Emy from Semigloss Design chose the perfect new style for this yellow painted washstand by creating a two-tone look using Bee’s Knees and Simplicity!
This washstand was sweet before, but a little plain, and definitely in need of an update.
Emy removed the previous stain from the top to reveal the original wood color, then she cleaned the entire piece well. She also scuff sanded the entire piece to help remove a bit of the shine and create a better surface for adhesion.
She then primed the entire piece to make sure she wouldn’t see any bleed through in her light paint colors.
The body was painted with our soft yellow color, Bee’s Knees, and the drawers and door inlays were painted in our pure white, Simplicity.
After a bit of top coat, this cutie is ready to go! Don’t you just love her new look?
