Ashley from Sparrow Song Furniture used Hollow Hill and Sparkle Furniture Glaze to give her picture frame a glam look. Read on to read her step-by-step instructions!

Shimmer, Sparkle, Make It Shine! Learn how to give a little glam to your painted picture frames in this tutorial using Country Chic Paint’s All-In-One Decor paint.

Supplies:

Prep is important for any project! In order to make sure that our frame was ready to hold onto the paint, we applied a thin coat of Primer to it. This creates better adherence for the paint, and gives it more durability over the life of the frame. Be sure to let the primer dry well before moving on to the next step. (You can use the Oval Paint brush to apply. Simply wash thoroughly before moving on to paint.)

*Primer is optional. An alternative would be to use a 200 grit sandpaper over the frame, then thoroughly dust it off before adding paint.

It’s dry? Great! Now you’re ready for Paint! Start by giving your closed paint jar a good shake and stir, being careful to mix it thoroughly.

Begin applying a thin coat of paint to your frame. Remember: A little paint goes a long way, so just dip the tip of the brush into the paint. Your frame doesn’t have to be perfect—just covered.

Depending on the color of the frame and the color of paint you chose, you may need another coat. Apply your second coat after the first has completely dried (about 15-30 minutes, depending on the detail of your frame). Be sure to wash out your Oval Paint Brush thoroughly! Remember that you can be as messy or neat as you want to be—it’s only paint!

When the frame is fully dried, you’re ready to add the Sparkle Glaze! Using your Oval Paint Brush, again dip just the tips of the brush into the Glaze, and paint just like you did before—a little goes a long way.

As your frame dries, make a decision. Do you want to seal it further? The Glaze will give a protective seal, but a coat or two of **Country Chic Paint Clear Coat will give it added protection and durability. This is a good idea if your frame will be handled or moved regularly. I chose to leave mine just as it is.
