Sometimes the pieces that my client’s bring by for me to refinish are pieces I wish I could just keep! This washstand was one of them!

On first glance – beauty and a quick little paint job! On second glance – major repair work was needed!

The drawer tracks inside had completely fallen out. The top was only attached in one spot, and both sides were completely coming apart. After making sure all the tracks and grooves were clean for repair, my hubby and I glued and clamped in several different steps over several different days until the piece was fixed and solid.

I sanded down the top to give it a smooth surface and to get rid of as much damage as I could before staining it in a dark cappuccino tone. The base was painted with two coats of Rocky Mountain, a deep beautiful charcoal.

I distressed the edges lightly to give it extra character – which is really easy with Country Chic Paint! The All-in-One Decor Paint formula sands so easily to a beautiful and super smooth finish!

I sealed it up with Antiquing Wax to add more depth and richness. I love how this little piece turned out!

Cait {Little City Farmhouse}

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
