Abbey from Painted Home Goods transformed this elegant French Provincial teal desk with the color, Jitterbug and some Clear Coat. Come learn more about it!

I love French Provincial furniture. Unfortunately I forgot to get a “before” picture of this desk but you know the look: the grungy-from-age white and gold combo.

The desk, as many vintage French Provincial pieces are, was laminate so it required extra prep. After cleaning well I primed with a spray on shellac to allow paint to stick better.

I typically use classic neutrals like white, gray, or blush on French Provincial pieces but I decided to do something different this time and went with one of my favorite colors, Jitterbug, from Country Chic Paint. After sealing it with two coats of Clear Coat, this desk is freshened up and ready for a new home!

Abbey {Painted Home Goods}

As a mom to twin boys, I am always busy. Twice the fun, twice the work! My Twin Tornadoes and salvaging neglected furniture are my passions. If a twin mom in a small apartment can fix up and paint furniture, so can you! In today’s throw-away culture and tendency towards cheaply made, mass produced home goods, I seek to provide something different, something unique. Bringing new life to discarded finds is my way of contributing to the responsible thrifting counterculture that has become a growing trend. When shopping with PaintedHomeGoods you can feel good about what you buy. Enjoy!
