Abbey from Painted Home Goods tried out her furniture paint color mixing skills on this little table. She combined Devotion, Peacoat, and Fresh Mustard to make the perfect deep teal color! Read on to learn the full color recipe.

Mixing custom colors is one of favorite things about furniture painting. However, I’m more of a “just dump some similar enough colors together and see what happens” sort of person. Having the new Country Chic Paint color recipes with ratios and pictures is a much more reliable way to mix custom colors.

For a bit of a modern vibe on this antique table I’d just picked up I wanted to use Moss Monster, a deep, rich teal. The recipe suggested by Country Chic Paint is 1 part Devotion, 3 parts Fresh Mustard, and 1 part Peacoat.

The previous owner had saved this lovely table from the trash but the top needed some patching and sanding before it was ready to paint.

After two coats of Moss Monster, I sealed with Hemp Oil and accented with some wet distressing and Willow Antiquing Dust. The dark color and glass knobs add a modern vibe to this gorgeous antique table.

Abbey {Painted Home Goods}

As a mom to twin boys, I am always busy. Twice the fun, twice the work! My Twin Tornadoes and salvaging neglected furniture are my passions. If a twin mom in a small apartment can fix up and paint furniture, so can you! In today’s throw-away culture and tendency towards cheaply made, mass produced home goods, I seek to provide something different, something unique. Bringing new life to discarded finds is my way of contributing to the responsible thrifting counterculture. When shopping with PaintedHomeGoods you can feel good about what you buy. Enjoy!
