Running low on paint? Why not mix your leftover colors together to create your own? That’s how Cait from Little City Farmhouse created this pretty, creamy white dresser!

I love classic white and cream furniture.  It’s such a quintessential farmhouse colour.  Whenever I am in doubt on colour, I always go with cream!
I got this piece as part of a lot of furniture from a friend clearing out her garage:

The finish was in pretty good condition, and I am guessing had been restored by someone in recent years. I loved the hardware and wanted to give this piece a really classic look. I sanded and stained the top, and after cleaning and lightly sanding the bottom, I painted it.  I didn’t have quite enough Cheesecake or Vanilla Frosting, so I mixed the two together and added in a little leftover Simplicity and got this really beautiful antique cream!

When it was dry I sanded it to distress the edges to give it a soft worn look.  I added the transfer, which I thought paired really well with the style of the dresser! I gave the entire piece a coat of Natural Wax for extra protection.

I love how this piece turned out! If you have leftover colours, even if they’re neutrals, don’t be afraid to mix them up and see what happens! Country Chic Paint mixes really easily!

Cait {Little City Farmhouse}

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
