Abbey from Painted Home Goods gave this old John Deere dresser with grimy, chipping paint a classy new makeover with Liquorice and Hemp Oil to create a smooth, professional finish!

I apologize to anyone who might like this John Deere makeover (my husband loved it) but it had to go.

Someone had a creative vision but the paint was wearing off. Everything was grimy. And I didn’t think it was the right look for such a sweet little dresser. So I got those headlights unbolted and took the keyhole out of the bottom. With those holes patched, I was ready to sand. And sand. And sand some more. Then clean and sand again.

After a coat of Country Chic Paint’s Clear Bonding Primer, I was finally ready for the fun part! For a classic, timeless look I chose the color, Liquorice. Sealed with Hemp Oil for a soft sheen and finished with vintage style ceramic knobs, this sweet little dresser looks like a million bucks.

Abbey {Painted Home Goods}

As a mom to twin boys, I am always busy. Twice the fun, twice the work! My Twin Tornadoes and salvaging neglected furniture are my passions. If a twin mom in a small apartment can fix up and paint furniture, so can you! In today’s throw-away culture and tendency towards cheaply made, mass produced home goods, I seek to provide something different, something unique. Bringing new life to discarded finds is my way of contributing to the responsible thrifting counterculture. When shopping with PaintedHomeGoods you can feel good about what you buy. Enjoy!
