Mint Green Storage Trunk Makeover

This old trunk was in desperate need of a makeover before Abbey from Painted Home Goods transformed it with Happy Hour All-in-One Decor Paint!

My friend’s Craigslist cedar chest was previously painted an orange-brown to cover up some minor cosmetic damages and was in grave need of a makeover to suit her charming apartment.

After much deliberation on color (because picking just one Country Chic Paint color is HARD!) she settled on Happy Hour for a “whimsical cottage” look.

Sanding revealed the top was in overall great condition except for a few deep stains. Dark gel stain gave a classic look while hiding the stains.

The base was marked with numerous dents and dings so I patched and sanded before painting two coats of Happy Hour. With a little distressing, this cutie was ready to head home. A simple makeover made a big difference!

Abbey {Painted Home Goods}

As a mom to twin boys, I am always busy. Twice the fun, twice the work! My Twin Tornadoes and salvaging neglected furniture are my passions. If a twin mom in a small apartment can fix up and paint furniture, so can you! In today’s throw-away culture and tendency towards cheaply made, mass produced home goods, I seek to provide something different, something unique. Bringing new life to discarded finds is my way of contributing to the responsible thrifting counterculture. When shopping with PaintedHomeGoods you can feel good about what you buy. Enjoy!
