Another stunning vanity-to-nightstands upcycle! Abbey from Painted Home Goods used Clear Coat and String of Pearls chalk-style furniture paint to refresh these old nightstands while preserving their natural beauty.

I picked these tables up from a local shop. They were previously an antique vanity with a tri-fold mirror but I wanted to turn them into separate tables, so I had to make legs for the back.

When I got these the old finish was peeling and chipping and they were covered in what looked like mildew. Gross!

After hours and hours of sanding, the gorgeous wood that was hiding underneath all of that was saved! It made the hard work worth it.

In order to preserve the natural wood, I simply applied a coat of Country Chic Paint’s Clear Coat. A water based sealer like this one is the best choice for sealing bare wood without changing the color.

I painted the bases with one of Country Chic Paint’s new Lustrum colors, String of Pearls. This soft, stunning white has the slightest hint of pale blue/green making it a gorgeous cool tone.

With lined drawers and new ceramic knobs, these beauties are ready for a new home and are proof that even the grossest pieces have potential!

Abbey {Painted Home Goods}

As a mom to twin boys, I am always busy. Twice the fun, twice the work! My Twin Tornadoes and salvaging neglected furniture are my passions. If a twin mom in a small apartment can fix up and paint furniture, so can you! In today’s throw-away culture and tendency towards cheaply made, mass produced home goods, I seek to provide something different, something unique. Bringing new life to discarded finds is my way of contributing to the responsible thrifting counterculture. When shopping with PaintedHomeGoods you can feel good about what you buy. Enjoy!
